African Cultural Art Forum partners with Phila Assembled

The Marketplace "Seeds of Sovereignty"

Family Survival and community partners will produce a collaborative Community Art Day for the Philadelphia area. Our efforts will bring together various artists, musicians, and activists for a fun filled day of celebration and culture. The festival will feature art workshops, open mic performances, guest speakers, local musicians and live DJ.
This celebration of ethnic food, music, and community will be held in one of the city's most vibrant neighborhoods and will feature an interactive exhibit from the African Cultural Art Forum, which has provided artwork and artifacts for the past 48 years.
Our goal is to enhance the well-being of the African American community and bridge the gap between blacks and their ancestral aestheticism. There is a grave lack of knowledge in our black neighborhoods regarding art and cultural of the African kind; and this festival will be the perfect platform, for locals across the city, to gain insight and exposure them.
Cultural Workshops Include:

Jewelry Making

Shekere Making

The Art of Hip Hop

Locs and Hair Art

Fabric & Sewing
